The Gurage Zone is one of Ethiopia’s historically and culturally rich regions, known for its unique traditions, economic contributions, and sustainable agricultural systems. However, despite its significance, comprehensive and organized documentation of its history, culture, biodiversity, and socio-economic landscape remains limited.
The Gurage Zone Atlas Development Project aims to create a digital and print-based atlas that consolidates critical information on the Gurage people, their traditions, natural resources, and development potential. This initiative will integrate historical records, maps, research data, and multimedia content to provide an accessible knowledge resource for researchers, policymakers, and the local community.
We invite researchers, historians, GIS specialists, cultural organizations, and funding bodies to join us in developing this comprehensive *Gurage Zone Atlas*. Your expertise and support can help preserve and promote the rich heritage and future development of the Gurage people.
